Exploring the coefficients of quadratic function through Winplot: an experience with Second Year High School Students

This study is a qualitative research I carried out with the main objective if implementing and analyzing a didactic sequence which involves graphs of quadratic function. Moreover, I aimed to associate, recognize and understand the relationship between the coefficients of the quadratic function. I conducted this investigation in a class of 16 students from the Technical Course of Information Technology and High School at Farroupilha Federal Institute - Campus Alegrete/RS. This research is relevant because it approaches the use of technology in Mathematics classes and the development of didactic materials. In order to implement that investigation, I applied the methodological assumptions from Engineering Didactics. By doing this work, I hope to help High School teachers as well as to encourage them to learn the subject investigated.
