Investigative activities: possibility of teaching of trigonometric concepts on right triangle on Degree in Mathematics

Abstract

This article is an excerpt of the Masters Research in Exact Sciences Teaching of the University Center UNIVATES, Lajeado - RS, which aims to address the conjectures that emerged from investigative activities involving some trigonometry concepts in the right triangle with students of the Degree in Mathematics. From this perspective investigative activities have been prepared with a view to promoting the significance of some trigonometric conceptsin right triangle, as well as developing the mathematical writing ability. Theoretical referencewas used of Ponte, Brocardo and Oliveira (2013) that deal with the Mathematical Investigation as teaching methodology. For data collection was adopted observation, the production of reports by students, field diaries and records footage of the presentations and discussion of the results, and a written evaluation at the end of the activities. The results show a progressivedevelopment of the elaboration of conjectures capacity and the increasing presence of writing.Moreover, students recognized significantly learning trigonometric some concepts.
