The present text aims to present the Wittgensteinian perspective on the expressions see and see how, with facing focus on the teaching and learning of mathematics, in particular, of geometry. In this sense, we try to highlight the concept of gold number, in perspective of language, from a brief history and its constitution as a mathematical object proper, besides its applications in other branches of knowledge. To do so, we discuss about the perception of visual aspects, with emphasis on the second phase of Wittgenstein's philosophy, in order to show that the subjective interpretations of mathematical objects, on the part of students, are often investigated at the detriment of language. We have therefore made some analogies in scope Mathematical Education, whose observations allowed us to emphasize that the misunderstanding of mathematical concepts may be associated with the lack of perspicuity. Therefore, we emphasize that the seeing and seeing-as aspects can be understood as techniques underlying the teaching activities evidenced through language games in the teaching of mathematics.
