We show the results and reflect on about the use of conceptual maps as a tool for texts reading and understanding from the perspective of postgraduates in class of Learning Theories and Mathematics Education, taught at the academic master's degree in postgraduate course in Mathematics Education and Physics Science. We analyze the answers given by the students to a set of questions designed to obtaining the impressions that emerged during the whole process of texts reading and understanding, conceptual maps drawing and giving seminars. This is a qualitative study, concurrently subsidized by Duval's work, referring to the diversity of registers of semiotic representation and text reading and understanding in Mathematics and the programmatic principles that facilitate meaningful learning described by Ausubel. The results suggest that is appropriate to use conceptual maps to supporting and favoring the text reading and understanding, dialogue, the exchange of meanings between students and the meaningful learning of the studied concepts.
