This work, the result of a master's thesis from the Postgraduate Program in Computer Science at UFSCar - Sorocaba, aimed to investigate how the use of Computational Thinking can be an effective tool for Basic Education students in solving Olympiad problems. of math. For this, a field research was carried out with students from a nucleus of Olympic studies of a private school in Sorocaba-SP. Scratch Software was used to support the construction of the proposed exercise algorithms. The results obtained were analyzed from the perspective of Seymour Papert's Constructionism and the numbers obtained through the students' responses in the interventions and evaluations carried out. The analysis of the results shows us positive evidence regarding the use of Computational Thinking, leading us to the construction of a practical guide for the use of Computational Thinking in solving Mathematical Olympiads.
