Instructions for Authors

Types of documents accepted

Cadernos de Tradução publishes original articles, articles translated into Portuguese, reviews, translation reviews and interviews. All submitted texts must reflect the focus and scope of the journal. Texts may be submitted in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, German and French. In order to publish a text in Cadernos de Tradução, all authors must have an Orcid registration.

Authors' Contributions

The indication of authorship is based on the CREDIT taxonomy (more information at http://credit.niso.org/), in a scientific work it is only due to those who:

1. a) They contribute intellectually, directly and substantially to the design of the research/article (acquisition, analysis or interpretation of study data).
2. b) Participate in the construction of preliminary versions or critical review of the article's content.
3. c) Approve the final version of the article to be published.
4. d) They are responsible for authorship, in order to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of the article.

Authors must present a declaration of conflict of interest when applicable.

Article Submission Format

Articles submitted for evaluation in the journal Cadernos de Tradução must strictly follow the journal's template .

• Title
• English title
• Abstract: The abstract must be written in the language of the document, Gill Sans font, single paragraph, size 12, single-spaced, between 150 and 300 words. The abstract of the text submitted for evaluation and the information entered in the submission metadata must be the same, as must the keywords (which must be entered individually in the corresponding field in the system).
• Keywords: After the abstract, three to five keywords should be added with lowercase initials (except proper nouns), separated by semicolons. The keywords should be clear, short and specific, presenting terms relevant to the article presented.
• Abstract and Keywords: All papers must contain an abstract and keywords in English. These must be placed below the abstract and keywords in the language of the article.
• Authors' names: When a compound surname creates clear identification, such as capital letters and/or hyphens.
• Authors with full affiliation.

• Inform about financing of articles.
• DOI
• Language of articles: Cadernos de Tradução accepts articles written in German, Spanish, French, English, Italian and Portuguese. Texts written in other languages may also be considered for evaluation and publication.
• Manuscript length: The text of the article must contain up to 10,000 words. Bibliographic references will not be counted within this number of words.
• Declaration stating that the research was approved by an institutional ethics committee, if necessary.

Digital Assets

Digital assets such as tables, charts, figures, illustrations, maps, diagrams and others must follow the rules below:

• Tables and Figures:

- Title, Source and Description: All tables and figures must be numbered sequentially, and must contain a title (above the table/figure) and an indication of the source (below the table/figure). In addition, authors have the option of adding a description of the table or figure so that reading software can pass the content on to the reader. All information in Gill Sans font, size 10, single spacing 1.0

- Table design: A simple structure must be used, without merged, divided or blank cells and priority should be given to captions that do not contain symbols or abbreviations. The table must be centered, Gill Sans font, size 12, single spacing.

- Figure design: Figures must have reproduction rights under the exclusive responsibility of the authors. The figure must be centered. Accepted formats are JPG, JPGEG or PNG in resolution from 300 to 600 dpi depending on the image.

Citations and References

Cadernos de Tradução uses the author-date system and citations and references must follow APA standards (7th ed.), as shown in the examples presented here . Only works cited in the body of the text should be included in the list of references. All citations must be able to be correlated in the list of references and vice-versa. Papers that use citations in the following formats may not be accepted for evaluation. Cadernos de Tradução may not evaluate papers that present complete references in footnotes (instead of citations) or that follow other style standards, such as ABNT, Chicago, MLA, Vancouver, etc.

Cadernos de Tradução emphasizes that citations and references must follow APA standards (7th ed.), as per the examples presented in the template

Supplementary Documents

Authors may submit supplementary documents at the time of submission, such as research collection data, etc. For translated articles, it is mandatory that the version of the article initially published in the original language be submitted as supplementary documents, as well as the translation authorization from the author, journal and/or publisher that published the first version of the text.

Financing Statement

Funding received for the development of the research must be included in the notes indicated at the end of the text, in the “Funding” section (see template).
