Abstract

Whenever we look towards other’s culture, we usually think about ourselves and the way we take place in front of the other. The aim of this work is to consider this kind of relation between two cultures that are placed in the face of each other and the translation is the vehicle of their deal.

Geraldo Ramos Pontes, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

Possui mestrado em Literaturas de Língua Francesa pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1992) e doutorado em Literatura Brasileira pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1998). Atua na área de Letras, como professor adjunto da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, com ênfase nas Literaturas de Língua Francesa e no Comparativismo Literário. Pesquisa a relação da alteridade sócio-cultural com os campos lingüístico e literário.
