Building on studies of cognitive segmentation in translation and on the emergence of new modes of production with the advent of translation technologies (Dragsted, 2004), this article presents the structure and design of a research project which aims at investigating the impact of translation technology on human cognition. By reviewing the literature on cognitive segmentation in translation and on translation technology, it discusses the possible implications that the use of translation memory systems may have on the performance of translators.Downloads
