When speaking about dictionary use and research into it, some authors make inappropriate generalizations. Therefore, the first aim of this article is to attract attention to the differences that exist among various types of publications on the issue. Secondly, I deal with the main methods and aims of research done in this field. And finally, I select some examples from works on the use of learner’s dictionaries in order to show what types of studies have been conducted worldwide and what results have been obtained.Downloads
