Estratégias de monetização em negócios digitais: modelos, tendências e evidências a partir de plataformas globais

Resumo

Objetivo: Analisar comparativamente os modelos de monetização adotados por quatro plataformas globais de streaming, Netflix, Spotify, YouTube e Amazon Prime Video, à luz da literatura sobre modelos de negócio digitais, economia da atenção e estratégias de plataformas. Metodologia/abordagem: Estudo exploratório baseado em análise documental de dados secundários, incluindo relatórios anuais, documentos corporativos e publicações especializadas. Originalidade/relevância: O artigo oferece uma visão comparativa de plataformas amplamente estudadas de forma isolada, integrando diferentes modelos de monetização em um único arcabouço analítico. Principais resultados: Os achados evidenciam a diversidade de arranjos: assinatura pura (Netflix), freemium híbrido (Spotify), publicidade com opção de assinatura (YouTube) e cross-subsidy integrado ao ecossistema da Amazon (Prime Video). Apesar de compartilharem a lógica da economia da atenção, diferenciam-se na captura de valor por meio de assinaturas, publicidade e fidelização. Contribuições teóricas: Avança na compreensão da economia digital ao articular modelos de negócio, monetização e economia da atenção em uma análise comparativa. Contribuições para a gestão: Oferece insights para gestores sobre como equilibrar monetização, engajamento e sustentabilidade em ecossistemas digitais altamente competitivos.
