Abstract

In this article we discuss the Professional Master s Degrees
courses on Science and Math Teaching which are widely supported
by CAPES in several areas. Such policy had an important
impact on Science and Math Teaching areas, in such a way that
we can see a greater number of professional courses than academic
Master s Degrees nowadays. Nevertheless, reflections
on the nature of the professional Master s Degrees
courses and on their possible impact in Brazilian society is
an absent issue in academic production in Science Education
and in Educational Area, and it is restricted, up to now, to the
Postgraduate Brazilian Magazine (published by CAPES ).We aim
in this work to incite discussions concerning the nature of the studies
developed in Professional Master s Degrees Courses in relation
to the Development and Research Projects.
