The Study of the Collision Phenomenon Using Quantitative Computer Modelling

Abstract

The rapid growth of the so called new technologies has encouraged a debate on its integration within teaching and learning processes. Hence, it is crucial to find out how effectively to take advantage of it to the educational context. This article describes a study on quantitative computational modelling of a Physics topic with undergraduate students as a strategy for integrating computational technology into exploratory learning in Science. The results lend support to the conclusion that computational modelling, when appropriately used, can encourage students to further investigate the concepts studied.
