Nelson De Luca Pretto, Federal University of Bahia

Full Professor (and activist) at the Faculty of Education (www.faced.ufba.br) of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA)/Brazil. PhD in Communication from the University of São Paulo (1994), Bachelor in Physics (1977), and Master's in Education (1985), both from UFBA. CNPq Research Fellow. Member of the Bahia Academy of Sciences.

He served as Regional Secretary of Bahia (2011 and 2015) and Member of the SBPC - Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (2015-2019). Member of the Bahia State Culture Council (2007-2011).

He was the editor of the journal entreideias: educação, cultura e sociedade (www.entreideias.ufba.br) until 2016 and was a board member of the Teachers' Union in the State of Bahia - SINPRO (1976/1977).
