Abstract

This paper, supported by an ethnography in the Cashew Training Center, Clube Atlético Paranaense, reflects on the way in which the CAP selects its future athletes. Describing the different ways to recruit players, I discuss the limits of science to detect the "talents". I conclude that it is the phenomenological relationship between the eye and moving oneself - the scout with the player - that becoming a football player is held.
