Abstract

Abstract: Continuing are diffuse through media, beauty stereotypes, with rules to be followed to keep the body in shape, although available recourse in business to achieve the “ideal body” image. The masculine body became a big target of enterprises, principally the ones that have relation with the image of that sex. We try to understand the builtness of this body through analyses of a masculine magazine, Playboy, although identifying whatare the concepts of masculinity in analyzed literatures, that brought us the biggest knowledge for the realization of this research. We took use of exemplars of this magazine from the period of time October 2002, to May 2003. Key woords: body - male - media
