Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to draw some conclusions of Georges Snyders's pedagogic thought na analysis is carried out to grasp and understand the construction and meaning of Progressive Pedagogy, proposed by Georges Snyders, as well as the evolution of its basic concepts. The evolution of Snyders's thought throughout his work and the main concepts he uses are therefore the focus of this analysis. As a conclusion, Snyders's works are grouped in two big sets of different themes and concerns. These two groups however, are interrelated, one consisting of an extension and in depth view of the other. The theme of happiness in the school, for example, is present in Snyders's both early and latest works and is viewed as a consequence of Progressive Pedagogy.
