Abstract

In this paper, we discuss text genreusing recent theories and theanalysis of didactical materialconcerning the teaching of readingans writing in the fundamental level.A new view of language seems tounderline the teaching ofPortuguese, but it is necessary to fillsome theoretical and methodologicalgaps before preparing teachers andstudents in order to achieve aneffective use of language.
