O educador e as diferenças sociais: uma leitura da filosofia da educação de Richard Rorty

The objective of this work is to present on which way Richard Rorty's philosophy, seen as philosophy of education, articulates the question of social differences to the practice of the educator. From the philosophical presuppositions of the pragmatistic theory, the work tells about Rorty's proceedings set to affirm the need of solidarity as a key to the problem equation of the social differences. In the works related to this theme —where he debates on black people, homosexuals, feminism, labour and unionist movements etc — standing out the presence of a political utopia with a democratic nature, from which the author proposes a new glance about the educational process, to become it capable to contributing with the socialization as well with the self re-description of social subjects.
