Ensino de engenharia: formação ou informação?
DOI:

This paper tries to answer questions which are of the utmost importance to an engineer's formative processo Does engineering education in Brazil correspond to the expectations, in terms of professional qualification for the country's current development stage? Is the national technological dependence a consequence of the economic crisis alone, or does it also come from a formative process which does not provide incentives forcreativity at a leveI required to breed innovative ideas?
Should an active participation of the student in this formative process be exp1oited? How could this be achieved? Should engineering education stress formative or informative aspects?
The line of reasoning developed in the paper tries to demonstrate why the formative aspect should prevail.
