This article offers a set of refleclions about Childhood Educatíon based on a review of material published in seven periodicals found in the Sectoral Library of the Center for Educational Sciences. A data base was prepared where the material collected was organized by authorl year of publication. subject. age group. etc. for the period from 1983 to 1993 (inclusive). In addition to tracing a "profilell ot the most common subjects dealt with by the authors that published in the periodicals studied. an analysis of certain questions that are crucial to childhood education could also be conducted. such as. the Iimited quantity of material proctuced about education of children trom O to 3 years of age
