The creation of the children’s museum of Santa Catarina island at the Federal University at Santa Catarina

Abstract

This report presents the trajectory of a museum that is based on the children’s toys of Franklin Cascaes and has the characteristics of a chidlren’s cultural center. The Toy Museum of Santa Catarna Island is a collective construction based on a cultural concept that expresses Luso-Azorean, Black and Indigenous heritages and is the fruit of academic activity conducted through a Research Project at the Graduate Education Department at the Federal University at Santa Catarina (UFSC), approved by CNPq in 1998.

Telma Anita Piacentini, UFSC, Florianópolis

Possui doutorado em Educação pela USP (1995) e Università Degli Studi di Ferrara/Itália. Tem experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em Imagens de Infância, Planejamento Educacional e Educação Popular nos movimentos sociais. Criou o Museu do Brinquedo da Ilha de SC, metamuseu do Museu Universitário/UFSC.
