Notes on setting up social and the cultural industry as mediation

The present essay discussed, based on the concept of cultural industry, the need for a new configuration of the social in contemporary times. In addition to Th. Adorno, the discussion is supported by the writings of Stuart Hall and Nestor Garcia Canclini. These authors, in turn, praise the processes of the cultural industry in its integrating dimension, despite the deleterious effect of a globalization conceived unilaterally by the central countries to the detriment of the peripheral ones. We argue that training and cultural context play a central role in the elaboration of cultural mechanisms as a condition for the subject's realization. Critical theory and Cultural Studies (conceptual field) clarify some of the universal ills represented, to some extent, by the configurations of culture and popular culture.
