Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss public policies related to vocational education. In particular it analyzes the modality of vocational and technological education, a special model of higher education which has been implemented in Brazil in Cursos Superiores de Tecnologia (Superior Technology Courses). It also examines the transformation of the Federal Technology Education Centers (CEFETs) into Technological Universities
