Fatores que afetam a empregabilidade da população LGBT: revisão da literatura

Resumo

Pessoas LGBT enfrentam barreiras para acessar o mercado de trabalho devido à discriminação decorrente de preconceito baseado na orientação sexual e na identidade de gênero. Apesar da existência de jurisprudência que protege pessoas LGBT e regula atos de discriminação, isso continua a ocorrer. Somam-se a isso outras barreiras relacionadas aos setores de educação, saúde e moradia, entre outros, que dificultam o bem-estar e o desenvolvimento de uma vida digna. A fim de identificar os fatores que afetam a empregabilidade da população LGBT, foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura. A pesquisa concentrou-se em tópicos como disparidade salarial, microdiscriminação e satisfação no trabalho. Identificaram-se vários fatores que podem contribuir para melhorar a empregabilidade: gênero, visibilidade, local de origem, antecedentes criminais, status socioeconômico, apoio comunitário, anos de educação, trabalho sexual e estado de saúde. Embora a pesquisa sobre a população LGBT e emprego esteja crescendo, os estudos latinos têm sido muito escassos ou não sistemáticos.

Alejandra María Cabrera-Martínez, Universidad Militar Nueva Granada

É economista, mestre em Administração pela Universidade Nacional da Colômbia e doutora em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade do Norte, em Barranquilla (Colômbia). Seu trabalho acadêmico explora as relações entre teoria organizacional, complexidade e diversidade, com especial interesse nas dinâmicas de inclusão e gestão da diferença em organizações culturais, organizações diversas e pequenas e médias empresas (PMEs).

Jorge Eduardo Moncayo Quevedo, Universidad Antonio Nariño

É psicólogo, doutor em Educação pela Universidade de Brasília (Brasil) e mestre em Sociologia pela Universidad del Valle (Colômbia). Atua como professor e pesquisador na Universidad Antonio Nariño, em Cali. Seu trabalho acadêmico aborda as relações entre gênero, sexualidade, diversidade sexual e vivências trans na América Latina, particularmente nos campos da saúde, dos direitos humanos e das desigualdades sociais.

Maria del Mar Perez Arizabaleta, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia

É psicóloga, com mestrado em Psicologia e especialização em Psicologia Clínica pela Universidade de San Buenaventura, em Cali (Colômbia). Atualmente, é doutoranda na Universidade Antonio Nariño. Seus interesses de pesquisa concentram-se em saúde mental, estudos trans, bem-estar de pessoas LGBTIQ+ e saúde sexual.
