It is important that the teacher promotes development of an active and meaningful learning, searching for methods that aim to go from the concrete to abstract. In this regard, a class proposal involving a concrete material called Trigonometric Building was planned and applied. The objective of this article is to reflect on this teaching practice in order to present possibilities for the mathematics teacher in the use of this material and experimentation in the trigonometry teaching. The proposal uses object manipulation and an application roadmap to obtain sine, cosine and tangent of the remarkable angles results, so that, through questioning, develop results related to the values of this relationship. After the activity, another questionnaire was applied asking about the effectiveness of the material for the students. The vast majority of students praised the application, showing that it was a facilitator in their learning. In addition, we noticed that the students were able to abstract the result as the value of the trigonometric relations for the 90° angle. With that, we see a potential in the application of such methodology, which can assist the teacher in teaching trigonometry in Elementary and High School.
