This text discusses Problem Solving (PS) with a group of teachers participating in a training process based on Action Research-Learning (ALR) and developed through an institutionalized extension project at a public university located in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. The research aims to understand what discursive interactions reveal during the resolution of geometric problems. To this end, the data are constituted based on the transcription of two training sessions and the written records of the teachers participating in the project during the first semester of 2024. The analytical procedures are based on Discursive Textual Analysis, through which the final category Teacher Professional Development emerged from two subcategories that deal with: 1) continuing education and teacher interaction, in which we discuss the appreciation of continuing education by the participating teachers, the theoretical and practical understanding of Problem Solving, and reflections on teaching practice; 2) Problem-solving strategies that demonstrate different cognitive processes and are described using the area of a triangle as a reference, employing GeoGebra and resorting to the concept of linear function.
