This paper analyzes the translation of stretches of the essay El imperio jesuítico in which the writing of the poet Leopoldo Lugones reaches the statute of poetical and impressionist prose. Such phenome-non occurs mainly in the descriptive segments. However, the particular rhythm of his prose covers all the text. Therefore, after that, I analyze the translation of other stretches in which the rhythm is outstanding, despite of not configuring necessarily poetical prose.
