Results of the research on Science Teaching: communication or extension?
Abstract
Having as background the tripod teaching, research and extention, which give legitimitation and support to the existence of the University, some aspects of the possibilities and the limitations that researchers have are pointed here, concerning the Science Teaching (ST ) in the dissemination of their research results in three spheres of the academicuniversity action. Some arguments are being brougth that, even knowing we have to empower the reseaches feedback in ST to educational practices, and as there is a growing anxiety concernig the impact of these researches in ST, there is also a need to be cautious about the critics. Besides the researches announcements in Congresses and magazines that are the most visible characteristc of the researchers activities, some actions alternatives are analysed here, based on the results of research, which could have been developed by researchers when they were teaching in graduation courses as well as in extension ones, for example through a continued teachers formation process. Considering the complex context which involves the researcher s hard work towards the research feedback in ST, three aspects are showed to direct a balance about the limits and possibilities of this feedback, that are, the relatives: the quantities involved in the basic public education dozens of million of students, hundreds of thousand schools and dozens of million of science teachers ; concerning the organically planned researchers actions to beyond their individual iniciatives about the objectives of their researches.
