Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated by another journal;
  • The authorship’s identification has been removed from the body of the text, from the notes and from the files properties of all documents submitted for evaluation (review the “Properties” menu in all documents to be uploaded);
  • The submission text files are in format .docx, .rtf or .odt, and its size does not exceed 2 Megabytes;
  • All Internet page addresses included in the text are active and ready to click (e. g., http://www.ibict.br);
  • The text follows all the style standards and bibliographic requirements described on the Authors Guidelines; the text uses italic instead of underlining (except URL addresses); and figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end;
  • The author(s) has an ORCID register (https://orcid.org/).

Author Guidelines

The minimum degree required for the submission of articles is that of a doctor. Exceptionally and at the discretion of the Editorial Team, manuscripts by authors with lower titles may be evaluated. Authors who wish to publish in Revista Mundos do Trabalho must know the journal's Ethics Statement and agree with its terms. The Statement defines the journal's practices to ensure fair and transparent relations between the editorial team, authors, reviewers and readers, and to protect the peer-review process.

In addition, authors must follow criteria to inform the Submission Metadata and adopt all Publication Style Rules, as follows:

Submission Metadata

Authorship

Authorship (up to two authors) will be identified during the submission process in step 3: inclusion of metadata. At this time, it is necessary to fill in the fields Name, Middle name (if any), Last name, e-mail, Institution / Affiliation, and Country. In the Biography Summary field, the maximum academic degree must be indicated (title name and institution).

Financial Support

If the research has had the financial support of any agency or foundation, authors are asked to provide the name of the institution in step 3: inclusion of metadata.

Bibliographic References

In step 3: Inclusion of Metadata, it is essential to insert a list of the bibliographic references used. Some rules must be followed:

a) List only bibliographic references (do not mention primary sources).
b) Repeat the name and surname of the author of more than one work (do not adopt a dash followed by a period).
c) Organize the list in alphabetical order.
d) Leave a blank line between each reference.
Examples of the formatting of the references can be seen below on this page, in item 6 of the Manuscript Style Preparation.

2.2. Bibliographical references, documentary sources, and critical comments should be indicated in footnotes, with single spacing between lines, Arial font size 10. It is not necessary to highlight the material listed in the notes at the end of the text. It is recommended the parsimonious use of them, in order to guarantee the reading fluency.

The first page should include the centralized title (in Portuguese and English, or Spanish and English); three keywords in Portuguese or Spanish, and three in English. Alignment should be justified. The pagination should not be changed. Words written in a language other than that used in the essay should be written in italics.

4. Interviews should be written in Portuguese, Spanish, or English. They must have between 25,000 and 60,000 characters (about 8-25 pages), including images, tables, and footnotes.
