The school and the production of hygienic people

This work analyzes the education process in Brazil, beween the second half of the Ninettenth Century and the beginning of the Twentieth, askin if and how the education was configured in the middle of a wide project on social intervention formulated by the medical corporation. Aiming at examining, more precisely, the representations on students body, we have relied on two types of sources: thesis defende by sutdents graduated in medicine (as a requirement to get the title of doctor) and manuals produced by doctors practicing medicine, with the objective to divulge hygiene notion and guide the doctor-hygienic practices as part of the school's routine.
