Abstract

This paper explores the inclusion/exclusion of American
history contents and how it influenced the Brazil's school culture in the first decades of this century. It remarks the change occurred in the courses of History, considering mainly the social-cultural behavior of the Brazilian society in that time. Therefore, it was necessary to analyze the contents of History courses from the point of view of identity, nationalism and civilization behavior in orderto understand the conflicts that had marked the contents presented in the courses of American History in the Brazilian education.
