This article intends to discuss issues related to the Initiation to Sciences in the Early Childhood Education School, affirming the right of the child to appropriate the knowledge produced by humanity from the beginning of life. In order to reach the objective to discuss the teacher work focused on the Initiation to Science in Early Childhood Education in the initial education context, this research articulates the Cultural-Historical Theory principles with authors who are dedicated to thinking about the Initiation to the Sciences as a possibility of active participation of adults and children. For this purpose, the qualitative research guided the selection process, the data generation and analysis presented from an articulation of actions that systematize the dilemmas, challenges, and specificities related to teaching work in Early Childhood Education with theoretical and scientific arguments regarding the appropriation and formation of scientific tools to the intelligence and personality development of the young children. As a whole, we made reflections on the necessary theoretical and practical teacher appropriation in the initial education in Sciences in Pedagogy Course from the document analysis of an Investigative Teaching Sequence. The considerations here expressed validate the idea that the educational proposal oriented to learning that promotes human development in childhood requires the active attitude of teachers and children, strengthening a dialectical process of relations between childhood and the Sciences.
