This paper analyzes how the 1985 earthquake in Mexico paradoxically enabled a process of collective construction that is linked to the form of union organization of the workers of the textile industry and maquilas. We propose to inscribe in this genealogy the cause of the seamstresses but from the prism of the figure-syntagma of feminized precariousness. At this cleavage point, which is the earthquake as an event and inflection of the neoliberalization processes of life, we want to focus on two coincident aspects. The earthquake is an episode that made visible the conditions of exploitation of women workers and their role in the reproduction of value. And secondly, we can glimpse an analysis of the political nature of affects anchored in resignation, psychic passivity and fear, but it also becomes expansive towards anger, rage and pain.
