Objectives: This study aims to recognize the theoretical and practical notion about the concept of bibliography, and to present a study of the articles resulting from the event A Arte da Bibliografia.
Methods: It’s a Bibliographic and exploratory research with bibliometric methods. A survey of 58 texts was identified. The organization of the collected data was made with the Microsoft Excel tool. Regarding the standardization, we used the ABNT 6023/2002 as was used by the authors of the document..
Results: As for the results obtained, it was observed that the year in which the most publications were published was 2019. Regarding the journals, it was identified that the journals that published the most articles went to the journal Information & Information. Among the articles analyzed, we identified the involvement of 79 authors. Of these authors, 12 were involved with more than one publication. The references found are from the 16th century to 2019. The most used language was Portuguese with 51% followed by English with 21% and French with 12%. Regarding the number of citations of the references, 88 documents were identified more than once, and together they total 244 citations. The reference that got the most quotes was the book ‘Traité de documentation: le livre sur le livre: theorie et pratique’, by Paul Otlet.
Conclusions: We conclude that the publications derived from the event take up names and practices that strengthen the area's identity. For this reason, the space of A Arte da Bibliografia is epistemologically justified. Due to the quality ensured by publications, which are evaluated by independent blind reviews.
