TECHNOLOGICAL PROSPECTING OF PUBLIC HEALTH SOFTWARE RECORDS: DENGUE

Abstract

Goal: Dengue is an infectious and viral disease, transmitted from an infected person through the bite of the female (hematophagous) of the mosquito Aedes aegypti or albopictus. In Brazil, four different serotypes of dengue virus are found: DENV1, DENV2, DENV3 and DENV4. Computer programs play a key role in the technology age, enabling the storage, analysis, and organization of data quickly and more effectively. In this sense, the software, which aims to analyze, organize and simulate forecasts prevent and predict outbreaks of the disease. Design½ Methodology½ Approach: Seven software records were analyzed, observing a slight growth in computer records from 2013 onto dengue. 85.71% of the registered computer programs belong to universities and/or federal institutes, the other being private developers.      Results: The prospecting showed a market little explored, and it was necessary to guide research, development and technological innovation studies related to public health. Originality½ Value: The originality is linked to the applied methodology, that is, a technological prospection of software records applied to public health, especially dengue. The value materializes when the results make it possible to contribute to public health to reduce the impact of seasonal diseases.
