Sport and non-formal education in the context of space program opening of Unesco

Abstract

The adoption of actions aiming to contribute to the rapprochement between schooland community became one of the major tasks UNESCO to improve the quality ofthe education and reduce youth violence in Brazil. In that sense, the Abrindo EspaçosProgram, pedagogical conceptual source of the organization, proposes the openingof public schools on weekends, offering the community access to projects based onthe non-formal education model, with sports practice being at the basis of the project.Therefore, this work aims to discuss theoretic concepts regarding the implementationof such public policy, identifying points of contact between sports and non-formaleducation in UNESCO proposal.
