Abstract

Reflections on the contemporaneous infantile and juvenile
literature trends require an analysis of the relationship between produetion and reception. The focus given to the diversity of themes leads to the increasing of discourse density and to the presence of intertextuality and metalanguage in the texto That type of narrative is fragmented requiring more participation of the reader. There is a presence of old styles through lhe "pastiche" and parody. The narrator assumes new approaches. Their
symbolic female and male characters reappear establishing new social relationships. There is astrong poetry influence. The iIIustrations gain quality in a multiplicity of tendencies giving to this literary style a new status.

Graduação em Letras Português Literaturas pela Universidade Gama Filho (1972) , mestrado em Letras Vernáculas (1984) e doutorado em Letras (Ciência da Literatura, 1996) ambos pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
