The heritage education of the university teachers at Remedios, national monument

The work evaluates and presents how Patrimonial Education occurs in overcoming university professors working in the Municipal University Center (CUM) of San Juan de los Remedios, City of the National Monument in Cuba. The paper is a case study of a qualitative nature, with data obtained from unstructured interviews with 20 professors from different pedagogic careers and, in particular, Geography. It was concluded that the culture of Remedios, its architecture and physical conditions in general constitute a unique place that must be preserved, so that the Patrimonial Education for teachers is relevant. The Municipal University Center contributes to the preparation of teachers in this important subject through different forms of organization of professional improvement: specialized conferences, self-preparation, and analysis of didactic materials, seminars and specialized visits, among others. Thus contributing, so that these teachers develop works with their students on the Patrimonial Education.Downloads
