Special Education is a modality of transversal teaching that pervades all the levels of Education. In some teaching institutions this modality implies the existence of an inclusive pedagogical project and the development of collaborative work between the special education teachers and the teachers of the school subjects. The present article aims to present and discuss flexible activities that were carried out with special education students in foreign language classes. This study was designed as a qualitative research (GIL, 2010), following a content analysis (BARDIN, 2011) to study the design and implementation of foreign language activities to public school students with special needs. Two categories were chosen for analysis: flexibility characteristics and mediation of learning. These activities were carried out in 2015 and 2016 at Colégio de Aplicação/ UFSC, with three teenage students: one with Cerebral Palsy and two with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, who attended French, English and German classes. As main references that support this article are legal documents and publications related to Educational Inclusion (BRASIL, 2008, 2011) and Curricular Flexibilization (BLANCO, 2004; BRASIL, 1996; GLAT, OLIVEIRA, 2003). The results indicated the importance of flexible activities in the statement of the learning objectives and in the selection and mediation of the elaborated materials, with emphasis on the ludic activities and pedagogical games, contemplating the specificities of the students. It was concluded that curricular flexibilization and adequate mediation provided significant learning for students in foreign languages.References
