Corporate and care: a possible patchwork in training?

This study discussed corporeality and care in the training of nursing students. The metaphors inspired here bring the hospital-labyrinth and Ariadne's thread, to address care and corporeality in the training process of nursing students. The labyrinth and the thread make up the quilt sewn into the affairs of the hospital practice fields. By adopting the perspectives of cultural studies, ethnography emerges as the methodology that enabled immersions in the field with depth, which took place in rounds of conversations and dialogues recorded in a field diary and with participant observation. This study recruited nursing students from a Federal Public University, supervising professors in the field of hospital practice and graduates. The narratives evidenced in the results point to some fissures in the formative process, the absence of corporeality during training and the affective presence of the person who is responsible for the care. We also observed that the demands of the profession are significant, pointing out the feeling of helplessness and unpreparedness to deal with excessive tasks, with the demand of patients and administrative duties, showing that the experience in the labyrinth occurs since the first contacts with the practices, in which everyday tasks are interwoven like a quilt sewn by many professionals, allowing them to experience care and corporeality
