The arrival of the pandemic makes us rethink the perspective on quality of life, even in higher education institutions. In this scenario, teaching is directly impacted in its work environment, in the ways of relating in the teaching-learning process and in the use of new technological tools for education. Therefore, this study addresses quality of life in the teaching profession and aims to develop a structure of Quality of Life Management in the Teaching Profession for a Community University in southern Brazil. The method developed made use of Design Science Research, which targets the development of mechanisms to solve real problems. Among the instruments for data collection, focus groups were used with strategic leaders of the University under investigation. The empirical field, which is the object of this study, is a community university in southern Brazil. The results are expressed in ten macro elements, namely: Policies, Strategy, Processes, Leadership, Structure, Resources, Culture, Rewards, Results and Adaptability. This last macro element displays a new configuration in the process of understanding quality of life at work, resulting from the new pandemic and post-pandemic scenarios. The final considerations point to the need to define an institutional teaching policy that supports the strategy and implementation of the organizational framework in line with the organizational culture.
