The aim of this paper is to criticize the apologetic discourse of
the technical globalization on the basis of a study of conflicting reflective models and the image of the mirror knowledge metaphor. Education on the paradigms of Modernity, Postmodernism, Criticai Theory and Philosophical Hermeneutics attempts to answer questions referring to: (i) the sort of rationality that motivates the present flow of globalization; (ii)
the existence of places (not only virtual ones) forthe emergence of other rationality (ies); and (iii) broad or narrow perspectives forthe educational processo The global complexity era, marked by the disputes between the frameworks of the Modemity discourse and those of the Postmodernism,
reveals through several mirror games some interested presuppositions that reflect either favorably or not a truly emancipated human condition.
