Comicality plays a central role in the discursive production on gender and sexuality issues. Reinforcing or subverting the order, it contributes to establishing forms of belonging, within the narratives that form worldviews. In this context, this article aims, in a first step, to analyse the connection between totalizing narratives, comicality and belongingness. In a second moment, the article analyses Olga Grjasnowa’s novel Die juristische Unschärfe einer Ehe. In this novel, we identify two totalizing narratives based on marriage and sexuality that are subverted through the comic and that outline other forms of belonging. In place of the reproduction of an inherited lexis, the novel offers a new vocabulary to think about identities.
