Theater and Theater Translation is a multifaceted publication that reflects the concerns of the GTT. As the group advocates for its multidisciplinary approaches, involving researchers in Arts, History, Arts and Arts Professionals, Theater and theater translation offers the reader multiple approaches to theater research and theatrical translation. In the preface to the book, the organizers present a history of the group, which lists their theatrical productions, publications, ranging from theoretical and methodological reflections, which prioritize collaborative work, to translations of plays, as well as their ideology as a group. Translational practice is seen here as a “critical exercise: critical of oneself and critical of the other” and therefore is a “poetic and political act” (p. 8). The book results in an international projection of the group and features chapters written by researchers from various parts of the country and some international researchers. With seventeen articles, the book brings together diverse perspectives on theatrical translation, from reflections applied to specific case studies to metaphorical approaches that do not address the theater itself, but aspects of dramaticity present in other textual genres.References
