Abstract

ABSTRACT: CONTEXT: This integrative review aims to understand how the provision of care for patients with mental disorders requiring basic and advanced life support due to cardiac arrest in out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings is reported in the scientific literature. Updates, difficulties, and solutions are described in the literature. OBJECTIVE: To identify in the national and international scientific literature studies on basic and advanced life support focused on cardiac arrest in the context of mental health. METHODS: Integrative review, conducted between 2011 and 2021 in the databases BVS, CINAHL, LILACS, Medline. Articles were searched using the MESH descriptors and their combinations in Portuguese and English linked to the Boolean operators AND OR: “Cardiac arrest”; “Mental disorders”; "Emergency medical services"; "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation"; "Life maintenance care"; "Mental health". RESULTS: From the data search we initially found about 4113 articles in total, finally only 6 articles were selected as relevant to the topic. They were distributed into two categories to discuss the topic: analysis of the context and difficulties addressed in the literature and Solutions to change the scenario. CONCLUSIONS: It is a specific and little addressed topic, with several gaps to be explored, analyzed and understood in order to find what would be necessary to decrease the difficulties and increase the efficiency of the service provided to the psychiatric patient.

Atualmente é residente do Programa de Residência em Enfermagem de Família e Comunidade (PREFC) da SMS-Rio. Possui Bacharelado em Enfermagem pela Escola de Enfermagem Alfredo Pinto da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Seu trabalho de conclusão de curso foi relacionado ao o cuidado prestado a pacientes com transtornos mentais que sofrem transtornos mentais que sofrem paradas cardiorrespiratórias em ambientes extra e intra hospitalar. Esteve como bolsista no Projeto Conexões: Observatório de Olhares, abordando principalmente nos seguintes temas: políticas públicas, educação superior, vida e emoções e, no Projeto Esporte Sem Parar, o qual é um projeto esportivo a ser realizado em 40 núcleos na região metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro com meta de atendimento de 4 mil beneficiários. Além disso, exerceu, acadêmico Bolsista na modalidade Atenção Primária, da Secretária Municipal de Saúde do Rio de Janeiro (SMS-RJ),atuando na Área programática da AP 2.1, no Centro Municipal de Saúde João Barros Barreto(2020) e na Clinica da família Santa Marta(2021).

Tem experiência na área de Enfermagem, Saúde Mental e Psiquiatria, atuando principalmente nas questões relacionadas à assistência a pessoas acometidas por transtornos mentais e com problemas com o álcool e outras drogas. Pesquisas direcionadas para as questões relativas a gerência do cuidado, produtos tecnológicos voltados para a assistência à saúde e consumo de substâncias entre estudantes universitários e na população idosa.
