Not user! Interactant: proposing a new term for a new time

The article proposes a reflection of the use of the term interactant instead of the term user to designate library´s and studies of information behavior in Librarianship and Documentation target audiences. Presents arguments based on data collected through literature about the presence of the term "interaction" in the literature on the study of users in Brazil during 1970 to 2014, discussing the relevance of the interacting term based on literature review. The proposal seeks to raise this issue in order to start the debate in order to make a cultural change to produce greater interacting / librarian approach.
