On Teaching and Researching in Physical Education Undergraduate Studies

Abstract

The aim of this essay is to show some reflexions on teaching and research in Physical Education. Te relation between both topics is to think in three moments. The first it the professional research, the academic production that reaches validation by the scientists and the scientific game in its rules. This game should be known by the students. The second moment tries to show the place of researching in the undergraduate formation as training, as learning of systematic, analytic and rigorous thinking. It defends the idea that is not necessary to become a researcher as a student, but it is important to observe the research dimension in the undergraduate studies. The essay ends with the link between these questions and the teaching training as a curricular theme, how it is an axis in the formation of Physical Education teachers.
