A fábrica, o sindicato, o bairro e a política: a "reinvenção" da classe trabalhadora de São Paulo (1951-1964)

O presente texto analisa a formação de um novo sujeito coletivo na São Paulo do período 1951-1964, representado pela aliança entre classe trabalhadora, classes populares e setores da classe média. Esta configuração sócio-política foi possível em um contexto histórico em que contradições surgidas no chão da fábrica, nos locais de moradia e na política se combinaram e lutas conjuntas foram articuladas. O "sistema populista" foi, assim, forçado além de seus limites, esgotando seus mecanismos de incorporação.
