Didactic nowadays: between “normal”, hybrid and reinvention

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic affected different dimensions of social life, such as economy, trade and productive sector, family and social relations, sport and leisure activities, among others. Already present in our society, social inequalities were reinforced. Surely, educational processes were strongly affected. There were multiple and plural questions faced by the educational systems, schools, teachers, students, families, in all different levels of education. From the pos-pandemic perspective, we might ask ourselves:  Which school we are called to build/rebuild? Which school dynamics we want to prioritize? Which challenges these questions bring to Didactics? These provocations guide this text. We intend to approach some alternatives pervading the current discussions on this issue that can be summarized in the following way: The return to “normal” school, the school informed by “hybrid education”, and the “reinvention” of school education. We analyze each one of them concerning the implications to the teaching-learning processes. We defend that we are living a privileged moment to rethink the school and the Didactic function in new configurations and perspectives, in a critical and intercultural approach.
