In this article we propose to analyze the training of Indigenous teachers at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, focusing on the relationship of these teachers with three Indigenous languages ??– Guarani, Kaingang and Laklãnõ-Xokleng – in the context of the Intercultural Indigenous undergraduate course. Our analysis considers two contexts taken as formative spaces: i) the role of Indigenous languages ??in the vestibular for the Intercultural Indigenous undergraduate course: Guarani, Kaingang and Xokleng-Laklãnõ (Vestibular LII-UFSC 2022); ii) the role played by Indigenous languages ??in ther training to become Indigenous teachers, with a focus on the analysis of the course curriculum, and their final works (TCCs). To this end, the text initially presents an overview of Indigenous higher education, by focusing on resolutions and legislation that address the importance and role of mother tongues in this process, paying attention to the experience of the Federal University of Santa Catarina; next, we approach the concepts of multilingualism and bi/multilingual education, analyzing the role of this linguistic experience in the formative processes; finally, we bring reflections on the role of languages ??in the course curriculum, in the TCCs and in the educational experiences of LII-UFSC graduates.
